THE USE OF MEDICAL CANNABIS IN PSYCHOTHERAPY CONTEXTS

The present work is an integrative review that deals with the use of medicinal cannabis in psychotherapy contexts, the corroboration of prohibitionism for barriers to access, contraindications and benefits of the plant in psychological demands. 10 scientific articles found in the following databases were selected: Google Scholar, VHL, PubMed Central and PePsic. The results of this research showed that Cannabis Sativa has great therapeutic potential and is a great ally in psychotherapy contexts, but access is restricted to a portion of the population, influenced by structural racism and the war on drugs. With the realization of this research it was possible to conclude that there is a great gap in scientific productions associated with prohibitionism and illegality, in addition to the protagonism of civil society in the struggle for the decriminalization of Marijuana, which through political demonstrations pressure the judiciary and the scientific community, in order to reduce obstacles and facilitate access to medication.
